Free virtual retirement workshops: three sessions in August
Three identical no-cost sessions on August 12, 20, and 25 cover Social Security, FEGLI, TSP, and what happens to your union membership when you retire. Pick whichever date works and register online.
Whether retirement is thirty years out or thirty days out, there are three free virtual workshops this month — and you only need to attend one. All three sessions cover the same material, so pick the date that fits your schedule.
What gets covered
The agenda is broad enough that most of us have at least one question on it:
- Maximizing Social Security
- Understanding and fixing FEGLI
- TSP strategies
- Knowing your numbers, and building a roadmap to retirement
- Avoiding the common surprises and mistakes in retirement
- What union membership looks like after you retire
There is time for questions, and the organizers also offer complimentary help with retirement paperwork.
How to register
Select the link for the date you want from the list above — each one opens that session's Zoom registration page. If you have the flyer in hand, you can also scan the QR code printed under whichever date you choose. Registration is required, and it is how you receive the Zoom link.

These workshops are presented by Benefit Architects, Retirement Division, and offered at no cost to AFGE members. Local 1224 is sharing the invitation as a member service; attendance is voluntary and on your own time.
